Our Ministries

Our ministry programs provide opportunities for parishioners of all ages to grow spiritually, support those in need and share Christ’s love in practical and meaningful ways. Whether through teaching Scripture, volunteering within the church or assisting the wider community, every act of service strengthens our parish family and reflects the heart of Orthodox Christian living.

Special Religious Education (SRE)

We are blessed to have approximately 25 dedicated volunteers who deliver weekly scripture lessons on the Orthodox faith to over 550 children across public primary and high schools in the Sutherland Shire. These lessons provide young people with a strong foundation in faith, scripture and Orthodox tradition during a formative stage of life. Parents are warmly encouraged to enrol their children through their school administration. If you're interested in becoming a volunteer scripture teacher, we'd love to hear from you. No prior teaching experience is necessary - all training, lesson plans and resources are provided. Whether you can commit a few hours a week or a couple of days a month, your time and dedication would be greatly appreciated. Please contact our coordinator, Joanne on 0416128885, or Fr Constantine for more information.

Service within the Parish

There are many meaningful ways to contribute to parish life. You might serve on a committee or Philoptochos (Ladies’ Auxiliary), assist with fundraising events, clean the church, help maintain our church grounds or offer your time in other ways. Every contribution strengthens our community and brings us closer together in faith. If you would like to volunteer, please speak with Fr Constantine - your involvement is warmly valued.

Community Outreach

Our parish is deeply committed to supporting those in need throughout the wider community. Each month, a dedicated team of volunteers prepares meals for the Sutherland Shire Co-op, which distributes food to local charities, families in need and people experiencing homelessness. These meals benefit organisations including One Meal Sutherland, Hopefield Food Services Kirrawee, Orana Community Services and the Salvation Army. In addition to our monthly meal service, we run seasonal food and hamper drives and support A Touch of Kindness, which provides food, clothing and care packages across Sydney. We warmly welcome all forms of support - food and monetary donations or volunteering as a monthly cook, which typically takes place every third Monday of the month. By joining our efforts, you help bring practical support and Christ’s love to those who need it most. Please contact Joanne on 0416128885, to join our WhatsApp group and stay informed about upcoming opportunities.
